Thou art, O my sons and daughters, drawn in this hour to the heart of Christ, the Rose of Sharon. Christ in thee, in thy heart, is a thousand-petaled rose of Love and Wisdom - it is a magic rose.
Teach your children, beloved, "Each time you pluck a petal another appears in its place." It is the rose that grows and perpetually knows that I AM God where I AM and I must speak of God where I AM. For in the speaking, I deliver myself of the infusion of Light. A chalice that is full must needs be emptied that it might be filled again.
O ye who have received transfusion of Light as sacred fire, quickening of threefold flame, restoration of a flame once lost now found again, the fire in your hand is not for the keeping.1 When the flame is quenched at the conclusion of this service, beloved, send the fire to a heart darkened - the heart of youth, beloved, in whom the flame has gone out for their chemical dependencies, for the filling of their cells with all manner of impure substance until the vessel itself can contain neither the soul nor the flame.
You have understood this equation, beloved. You have understood, indeed, why the Lords of Karma must decree the end of a civilization that has contributed to the death of more souls than it has given life to. Beloved ones, the clay vessels must be broken. We cannot pour new wine of the Teaching of God into old vessels.2
How does the LORD, [in the Person of] the Maha Chohan and his Seven Sons, therefore achieve this? It is ever the divine way - by transmutation.
Beloved hearts, the clay vessels may indeed be transmuted to become, therefore, the new wineskins. But this requires fervor and a love whereto, I tell you, even you have not yet reached - a love that does value the worth of Life unseen, unknown, anywhere on earth, enough to set aside pettiness and the dwelling upon personal wants and desires inordinately and to the exclusion of Christ, my Son.
Therefore, we repeat the message: With all thy getting get understanding.3 You are the leaven only but not the whole loaf. Thus, the leaven must be distributed in all ways taught to you, beginning with the application of the Word at the altar of God.
Do you think you offer this Word for another? I tell you, it is always and always for thyself. Each invocation and decree has in its heart the Alpha, the Omega current, beloved. Understand, then, sweet hearts of Light, that one current does serve the increase of light in thine own body and the other does go forth to reach out to those who must have the flow of sacred fire, even as all require breath and life and food - and that daily.
So understand, when the sacred fire is not given but kept and hid under the bushel,4 when the light does not shine, when the Word is not spoken, when the Teaching is not given, blessed hearts, the leaping of the divine spark of the Holy Ghost does not, cannot occur.
Let praise be upon the lips of angels for all good accomplished. We come, then, to speak upon the reason wherefore that good and that good work is accomplished. Otherwise, the spiral shall not appear but become a treadmill round and round again!
Let not one chela label another "workaholic." Beloved hearts, let there not be drudgery in service. Perpetual service is possible, not impossible. But let those who try it know that unless service be endowed with a flame of Charity, it is not received as the acceptable offering that will count for the ascension.
If you have wearied in giving the call to the Divine Mother Astrea, know that it is I who gave to the lips of the Messenger last eve the call for the descent from the causal body of Julia5 of the full momentum of her giving of the Astreas in this life. And all of that fire did descend at the spoken Word of the Messenger - and only that which she [Julia] had called forth - multiplied by Love.
For Love is the multiplication factor of every decree of the blessed Word of God. And therefore it [the momentum of her Astreas] did descend from her causal body, multiplied by the Holy Spirit, the Maha Chohan, as Love to perform a most necessary purging, transmutation, and sealing of the four lower bodies as well as the filling in of the Deathless Solar Body incomplete.
Remember, beloved, that the worth of Community is that all serve, thereby rendering chores for one another that all might be free to engage in the mighty work of the ages - the prayer of the heart for the healing of the nations and the ascension of the soul.
Let not the word be spoken, "We have to decree, it is required." Blessed hearts, you decree for yourselves, and this is the grace of the Seven Chohans who sponsor you in the clearing of the seven chakras - that you can perform the work and the service to balance the karma and still have the hours left in the day to work those works that most men and women upon this earth this day must wait until they arrive at Luxor to perform: that application at eventide or at the dawn of the sacred fire that enables you to be ready indeed to meet thy God Presence in the air6 at any hour or moment or day when thou shouldst be called of him.
Blessed ones, without vision the people perish. Without the Teaching there is the nonendowment of works with a living flame. Do not forget it is a sacred labor and not a chore. Your labor is also for yourself - neither for the LORD nor the organization. The labor is the means of the pummeling and the purging that must take place. Let it be seen as such and let the flame of Charity as excellence adorn heart, head, and hand.
Let none be gone far out of the way of my heart. For when you retain perspective, beloved, as the blessed eye of God, it is so that all things are in balance. You remember the priorities wherefore, whereunto ye set that foot upon the blessed path leading to the summit of Life. I urge you to vow in this hour that this is the life of victory and the ascension and then to act accordingly.
It is forgetfulness, beloved, and sometimes - as we understand well - weariness to the bone for having served and served so well and so lovingly which burdens the heart. Therefore, visualize, as you place your temple and heart upon your cot, the mighty action of the Presence and a descending cloud - truly a swaddling garment of Love. This garment of your I AM Presence the Beloved does send to you. And if you will receive it in such joy and bliss as you pass to the realms of Light and call for the absorption of this garment of God's love, it will produce in you healing through the night, restoration, resuscitation - clearing the way in your cells for the true Spirit of the resurrection to come unto you.
Blessed ones, the initiation of the resurrection can come only as you understand that every cell and molecule is a chalice. You may visualize it in the form of a tulip, a cup. To enter the resurrection in this physical life, which is indeed possible, cups must be emptied that they may be filled. Thus, self-givingness daily is the requirement.
Oh, those wondrous self-assignments that you take upon yourselves to which you give your all, expending yourselves (as the apostle said, to "spend and be spent"7), where you outdo all previous performance, touch new heights of God, tap resources unknown, and see the fruit of labor! These, beloved, are the very elements of which the path of initiation of Maitreya is made.
Therefore, the nine-to-five chela, the clock-watchers, those who wish to do a job but not have an assignment from the Holy Spirit - they are indeed on a treadmill. It is a socialist treadmill, beloved. And it is a creeping, crawling beast in the economy of this nation even as it has long ago overtaken other nations of the earth. Realize, beloved one, that this state of affairs and consciousness is the destroyer of the Christ in you.
Has one of you in this hour - and can anyone say it - realized the fullness of that Christ-potential unto this hour? If it were so, beloved, you should ascend on the instant and there would be no further need for trying in this octave. But, beloved, even beyond this octave new heights of glory attend thy Christhood. Thus, even in heaven, one star differeth from another in glory.8
Understand, then, that the excelling, as "all Love excelling" (as a poetess we inspired once did write) - the excellence and the discovery of self as a cosmos that can release bowers of loveliness, cornucopia of treasures, beloved, this increase of the rings of the Tree of Life is precisely why you are here at Maitreya's Mystery School.
We speak, then, of the interval of rest from the labor of the hands and the going within to the secret chamber of the heart. That `work' of which I speak is not the running of the machine until it is worn out, nor of the body. It is something quite apart from that. It is goal-fittedness, measured victory upon victory - and understanding the sine wave of the intensity in the heart of the Immensity - and the retirement into higher octaves for the rest that is called the samadhi.
Blessed ones, ask for samadhi in higher octaves as you place your heart and soul to rest at night. Adeptship in the path of the Eastern Masters is to be studied and achieved at night. We are not so much concerned that you step forth as physical adepts, as we are that you have in this octave a sense of balancing personal and planetary karma, mastering the skill that is your sacred labor, and loving one another as brethren in Christ.
Attainment, beloved ones, often breeds pride and division. Therefore, remember this is the Holy Order of Francis and Clare. These two did set an example of that which is required of the true follower of Christ. If these things, then, are achieved, all others shall be added unto you.9 Any number of you have certain attainment at inner levels. But on the outer, humility is the essential thing - purity, love, peace, helpfulness.
For this must be, beloved, a Community of the Holy Spirit that nullifies, that does put to shame all communes of World Communism and socialism and of the cults of materialism.
Oh, there are communes of individuals all over the nations. There are cults in every area of life. They hang together, they make merry together, they fall together! Not because they are one in the Mystical Body but because they have found some trip for the ego, whether psychic, whether intellectual. Whatever it might be, beloved, they have lost the thread for the loss of true Love divine and the heart, head, and hand of balance.
It has been very easy for many to depart from the path of the Great White Brotherhood. Many false teachers are gone out in the land in the name of this or that religion or health fad or economic theory or solutions to age-old problems. Beloved hearts, channels appear and deliver messages that detour many from the path of righteousness, that keep them from the knowledge of the Word of the World Teachers.
It is an urgent hour for decree vigils to that end of the tearing of the mask from the false gurus and pastors in Church and State. To that end I direct your services through the first of this year, along with the very necessary calls for the overturning of the cult of World Communism and the cult of its capitalist supporters - decrees, then, for the president and the office of the presidency, decrees for this government that it be cut free from all attempts of serpents who rush forward now to tear down all that Saint Germain would accomplish.
I AM your Mother and I AM the Mother of those in South America. I AM the Mother of the freedom fighters and I, too, have heard Saint Germain call for help in Nicaragua. And I have seen patriots go forth in obedience to his command without the support of the decrees of this movement worldwide. They have gone forth to assist him without the protection of so much as the tube of light or the call to Archangel Michael. Beloved hearts, these are worthy. Help them as they are exposed and vilified in this hour! Let the freedom fighters be protected. Let those who will help them be protected.
And remember, blessed hearts, there is more going on on this planet than would appear from the daily activities at this Royal Teton Ranch. All of life is not tied up in the day-to-day problems you face. But as you allow yourselves to become totally tied up in a life which you envision as a problem, I tell you, the force has succeeded in the trick of stealing your light from being directed from this altar and my Sacred Heart in Jesus to those areas of the world that are swiftly going down and shall not return unless stalwart sons and daughters hear the call and reverse that tide.
A simple prayer breathed on your way from one place to another for help in Afghanistan will summon a hundred thousand angels to the side of a Lightbearer. Blessed hearts, you need not fail to decree because you think that unless you decree for hours the work will not be accomplished. Angels follow you, hoping that you will utter a command that they might enter the physical and stop this downward mud slide of civilization.
Can it be turned back? That is the question. Your answer will count much, beloved.
This night I embrace you with the fullness of my Heart and Love. I embrace you, beloved. And in this embrace through this night, I will transfer to you also the healing presence of my aura that you might be restored. For, beloved, the Divine Mother and her angels who tend thee announce to you your victory in this hour over much and many things. And thy reward, beloved, is responsibility for greater [things]10 - even, beloved, the salvation of a planet.
Let your horizon and your vision rise now. Let it intensify. For unless you save the planet, beloved - you, I say! - there will not be a point of preservation anywhere upon it, including on this sacred soil. Remember this, beloved: Every corner of the earth must have your attention.
As you walk and serve, then, visualize yourself robed as Saint Francis or as the Poor Clares. Remember, perpetual prayer is taught by the World Teachers in that book which you ought to know, at least in part, by heart - Prayer and Meditation.11 Only a paragraph a day.
Blessed ones, think not so much of relationships as to your relationship with God, and all these things shall be added unto thee.
So long as some men and women and children are in jeopardy upon earth, all are in jeopardy - including yourselves. Therefore, beloved, do not be insulated from world events as though these no longer mattered. It would be folly to consider that the Inner Retreat in and of itself were a haven of protection, invulnerable to all sendings of the sinister force.
Blessed ones, the Inner Retreat is what you make it. So be in the heart of Gautama and we shall increase the acceptable offering.

Keepers of the Flame love to observe the requests of Mother Mary made to the children at Fátima in 1917 and following:
The daily recitation of the fifteen-minute Child's Rosary which the Blessed Mother dictated to the Messenger; daily penance through service to Life and the invocation of the violet flame; offering the invocation for the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and prayers for the saving of souls worldwide through personal devotion to the Immaculate Heart (which for Keepers of the Flame includes devotion to the I AM Presence and the Threefold Flame of the Trinity burning on the altar of the heart); taking Holy Communion the first Saturday of the month (the `flesh and blood' [John 6:53] as the Alpha and Omega of Christ's consciousness, as well as the bread and the wine).
Communion is preceded by a private ritual of atonement calling upon the LORD God for forgiveness through Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. Repentance and forgiveness is followed by the remission of sin, i.e., the balancing of karma through good works and words, the giving of Archangel Michael's Rosary and the forsaking of words and deeds injurious to Life.
