Endowing Time with Eternity
Christmas Eve Address 1986

Well, here I am, beloved, standing at an altar that Jack built - and John and Mary and all of you!1 And I say, Hail, my chelas of the will of God!

     ["Hail, Lanello!"]

Did I ever expect to be standing here? Indeed I did! - fully and in plain clothes that you might see me as I am and not have fantasies whether about me or yourselves.

Blessed ones, practical men and women of the Spirit are we - just beyond the veil though not entirely beyond the travail, for we enter into your own daily. Receive us better and you will see that things will go better. We stand by with a solution when you are engaged in the pollution of the mind with so much concern and worry and discussion and human equation.

Beloved, it may be trite but it ought to be remembered - it doesn't take time but it does take attunement. And getting to the point of attunement is worth time and space. That is why these graces are given unto you each day.

Happy are ye in the service of the LORD, knowing well that your time has been endowed with eternity by the works of your hands. I said, Your time has been endowed with eternity by the works of your hands! Therefore, your time ascends to your causal body when it is filled with the glory of the LORD in your sacred labor. Understand this, beloved.

What happens when all of your time becomes eternity? Well, I daresay, you too enter the eternal realms of God. This does not require the departure from life or the ascension; nor is death the portal to this meaningful, most meaningful and the only meaningful existence.

There are some who are beyond this life who have not even touched the hem of the garment of eternality. Happy are ye who dwell in the eternal stream of God. Happy are ye who know when you depart from that stream and must return to it else suffer calamity and the out-of-alignment state of dukkha.2

Blessed ones, I love you for your love of God, for your love of this place, this Community and this Teaching. For a love so great, then, I would add wisdom and understanding. I would help you to pour this love into vessels from which you shall one day drink.

Did you not know that you daily prepare the elixir of Life - the very same drink that you would quaff from the hand of Saint Germain? To those who strive and serve I would add, then, a measure of sanctity, practicality, Morya's twinkle of mirth and, sprinkled in, a teaching so readable, so understandable that you might become tall pines in the forest of humanity that none can pass you by for the seeing of the stature of the Christed one of God.

I AM here determined that for all of your effort there is good fruit in the harvest - not bitter fruit nor bittersweet, not wormwood or gall. Blessed ones, if the effort be there, then let the motive of the effort itself be purged and purified so that each day the reward is that time and space and energy occupied and used ascends.

Thus, that portion of you well spent ascends to God. And since it is no longer here, then, you will say, "A portion of me dies daily unto the LORD."3 And it will be so. Better to die daily and reap a great harvest than never to have died or never to have lived but to have had only a twilight existence, borrowing light from spouse or friend or child but never fully entering into Jordan to be baptized holy [wholly] in the River of Life.

Blessed ones, it is sad indeed to see the world and the Lightbearer lost without contact with our eternal bark. But the saddest travesty of all is to see the potential Lightbearer in the very midst of our Community who does not internalize our Word but occupies another's place and space and does not fulfill either the spirit or the letter of the Law.

My counsel, then, to you unto the new year: to be true to thy God Self, true to thy True Self here below, true to thy Christ Self. Do not waste time, for time wasted falls as lead to the ground and you incur thereby karma and karmic weight.

Had you never before considered the karma of wasting time? It is wasted opportunity. It is hours that might be fulfilled and filled with grace. Every sand in the hourglass is given to you by God and you are accountable therefor.

You live in the midst of a maddening pace and world, beloved. Understand that this race of individuals is the greatest race of time-wasters since the last days of Atlantis. They fill not the hours, the years, or the lifetimes with the wisdom of God, the adoration of his name, or the love of his little ones. For this, then, is a civilization wasted - is a youth wasted!

Where will it end? We pray it will end in the fervor of the violet flame of your heart and not in the projected returning karma that is now outplaying on the screen of life. We pray it will end as the storm did before Hilarion, that the wave of returning karma will see the Son of God mark the sign of the cross and the sign of his own Christhood. And that wave will stand up angry yet bow to the Son of God and return then to its own nadir and origin.4

Miracles are in order. The question is: Are you in order? Are you the miracle of God? Or do you desire to be? Do you desire the gifts and graces of the Holy Spirit - not inordinately but with all thy soul and heart and mind? Then the Chohans are ready to deliver them.

If by labor a man earn a grace and if the grace await him at the universities of the Spirit and if he invoke not the grace nor go there to take that which has his name upon it, would you not consider him to be of all men most foolish, like someone who should receive a grand prize of money and not collect it?

I speak, then, of the reward of your labor that must be claimed diligently by still another labor that is a joy: It is the assimilation of my Body and my Blood. This I have given you in Holy Communion, not that I am a vain father desiring my sons and daughters to be made in my image but because my Lord has given to me Light.5 And because this Light is multiplied as substance in my heart, I desire to give it to you because you are worthy and deserving, because you need it - because I am your father who loves you.

Receive me and my gift, beloved, as though it were the end of a yellow ribbon. Take the ribbon and follow it. It is a ribbon that has symbolized in America the hope of life and loved ones returning. This is my hope - that the yellow ribbon of Cosmic Christ illumination will not be neglected by you, that you will follow it all the way to the crown chakra of the Seven Chohans, that you will rejoice that you are fulfilling the path of karma yoga in the yoga of works and that you now stand to receive the yoga, the divine union, of the Word.

May each one claim his reward lest another claim it, stealing into the night when you have neglected to keep the love tryst with the heart of God and his many emissaries.

Blessed ones, as you fall asleep at night, contemplate the mystery of God, the holiness of God, and the sacredness of Life. Let all things be done in holiness. Holiness is the sign of this Order and Community. When holiness is like the garment of humility that is worn next to the skin, you will notice such a blessed interchange, beloved, that you will scarcely note any separation in your interchange with one another and your interchange with the angels. Let the walk with God be a gentle walk into the octaves of Light,6 neither sudden nor abrupt - but predestined - though it may appear so to men as it did in the case of beloved Julia.7

I would speak of her because she was indeed my mother of old who bore me as Ikhnaton. I would speak, beloved, of the predestination of a soul known long time ago who, then and most recently, vowed to give her life in the cause of the Witnesses and the witness we bear. She gave her life to me in motherhood. She gave her life again as our daughter, entirely consistent with her divine plan.

And so I did comfort this day her daughter with the understanding that as a soul may consecrate a life that is predestined, so a soul may consecrate a death that is predestined. As you give your life each day in a service, you may pledge the hour of your passing and the momentum of your Christhood to a cause and an endeavor. So did she.

Blessed ones, one is taken and another is left8 for the fruitfulness of heaven and earth; for the harvest must come. Be comforted, then, that the harvest is a cycle that does appear and can be calculated as easily as you measure the season of your own harvests.

Thus, beloved, it is our prayer of joy this Christmas that your daily and annual and life's harvest be the full measure that is due you according to your sowings, and that for all of the labor of your sowings you do not allow the crows to come and pluck the seeds out of the fields that they [the seeds] may not bear your good fruit to the nations. These black ravens that fly about, reminding us of the brotherhood of the black raven as well as of the black priesthood of Egypt, represent the electronic belt, the untransmuted desire, the devouring, avaricious appetite that takes the spiritual fruit and eats it unto the human and its aggrandizement.

Thus, beloved, so great a love is given. May you also discover the key of the divine geometry in this hour to make that love be a victory not for yourself alone but for the one you love most, as Julia did, as I did. I say, take your love thus far expressed and let it be raised to the highest, noblest effort in this Coming Revolution which, as Maitreya himself,9 must one day come and be fulfilled and not forever on the way.

Beloved ones, I shall now be long on love and short on words, for the Christmas Rose is blossoming and the Lord does appear. This Lord Jesus comes with the Maha Chohan. While they deliver a spiritual gift, I can then play Santa Claus with my helpers.

And therefore, precious hearts, I give you a gift from our own [hearts]. I pray you will know and understand what is this gift and the price that is paid not alone by us but by a chela now disappeared from your midst - a price paid for a light gone forth, a price paid, beloved, that you might read and run and deliver the Teaching.

It is, then, with great joy that we release to you in this hour the real Christmas gift - our book, the Lords of the Seven Rays.10 I call my helpers now. They come forward to deliver them as our Christmas gift to our blessed staff whom we count, here at the Ranch and at Camelot, as those who serve in that twenty-hour-or-more-a-week sacred labor of sacrifice. May all, then, in that category receive this gift and hold that hand high until the book in your hand becomes a torch of the Goddess of Liberty, of her Seven Sons, and the Maha Chohan. Raise now your hand, beloved who have served in this capacity, and reach for the reward that is indeed due you.

Beloved hearts, this is the gift of Mother and me to you. It is the gift of many staff who have contributed and made possible this work. It is a gift of the Chohans and of the Holy Spirit to all.

This book is so recently finished that but five hundred copies were shipped, direct from Tennessee where it is printed, to this place. Thus, to the beloved staff who have prepared the way, as Above and so below, Los Angeles and here, we take this opportunity to say thank you. And to all of you who are a part of the larger body of the Church, this blessing from our heart will soon be available to you also.

Blessed ones, there is a very special love in our hearts for every type of labor and prayer and sacrifice made. Therefore, we say, May the fruits of the Spirit be unto you. And may you learn the gifts of the Seven Chohans in their lives and in their dictations and become all that they are.

I AM Lanello. I seal you by the right hand, and with the left I receive some portion of your substance that I may take to the heart of Mother Mary for transmutation, refining, remolding, and reworking to return to you on the morrow.

A blessed Christmas to all, beloved. It is my great joy and truly the joy of our Mother to be with you in this hour.

In the holy name of Jesus, our Lord, Amen.

This dictation by Lanello traditionally given on December 24, the birthday of Mark L. Prophet, was delivered through the Messenger of the Great White Brotherhood Elizabeth Clare Prophet on Christmas Eve, 12:15 a.m., December 25, 1986, at the Royal Teton Ranch, Montana, USA.

Footnotes:

1 Prior to this dictation, the Messenger gave a reading from The Lost Teachings of Jesus, Volume II, pp. 366-69, beginning with Mark's words "I never thought that I would ever be standing up here at this lectern in this chapel in this mansion. In fact, I never had any idea this place would exist ... ," spoken from the podium at La Tourelle in Colorado Springs.
2 Dukkha [Pali]: "out-of-alignment"; variously translated as suffering, pain, sorrow, discontent, imperfection, sin, evil. In Buddhist doctrine, dukkha is one of the three characteristics of existence - along with anicca, impermanence, or transience, and anatta, non-separateness (having no separate soul or ego; no exclusive possession of the immortal spirit). The Four Noble Truths, which Gautama Buddha taught his disciples, state that 1) life is dukkha, 2) the cause of dukkha is desire, 3) freedom from dukkha is in the attainment of Nirvana, 4) the way to this liberation is through the Eightfold Path: Right Understanding, Right Thought, Right Speech, Right Action, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness, and Right Concentration (or Right Absorption). For more on the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path, see 1983 Pearls of Wisdom, vol. 26, no. 21, pp. 166-67.

4 Hilarion before the storm. Jerome recounts: "The sea broke its bounds; and, as if God was threatening another flood, or all was returning to primeval chaos, ships were carried up steep rocks and hung there." The townspeople, seeing the mountains of water coming towards the shore, ran and got Hilarion, and, "as if they were leading him out to battle, stationed him on the shore. And when he had marked three signs of the Cross upon the sand, and stretched out his hands against the waves, it is past belief to what a height the sea swelled, and stood up before him, and then, raging long, as if indignant at the barrier, fell back, little by little, into itself." 9 Refers to Maitreya's title as "the Coming Buddha." In a dictation given November 22, 1976, Lord Maitreya announced his coming: "All these thousands of years they have called me the Coming Buddha, and I have been coming and coming and coming and at last I AM here! I AM come! I AM the Buddha of the Aquarian cycle. And therefore if you hear of `the Coming Buddha,' you may say, `I will relieve you, for Maitreya is relieved, for he has come into the center of the mission of the age."'
