It would be most difficult, without physical senses, to realize the world of form, and without spiritual vision it is difficult but not impossible to sense the Mighty Invisible Hierarchies. The mind, by the power of sheer reason must, if carried to the ultimate human capacity, acknowledge wonder of Life as the Creation of Vast Intelligence. To do otherwise is indeed, as has been stated, the utterance of "The fool (who) hath said in his heart, `There is no God"' (Ps. 14:1).
It is unfortunate but true that the many philosophies to understand the Divine are mixed. Some are inspired upon men by God and some are created by men of their own avarice, in the desire for either name and fame or material substance in return for their false labors of sowing tares of human error midst the pure grain waving in the wheatfields of Life. So then, the very selections men have before them on the Lord's Table are a mixture of Good and Evil. Side by side with the Holy Eucharist of the Living Word is the seed of error and human creation, sometimes so carefully and skillfully woven as to resemble Truth in order to deceive, if it were possible, the very elect.
Discrimination and discernment are sadly lacking in many of the chelas and We, Who would release the Power of the Greatest Truth into the world of men, find that the adventures of the human psyche in search of Truth sometimes resemble the fable of Jack and the Beanstalk:
In yearning eagerness for great spiritual attainment men plant the seeds obtained by the "magic" of Faith, and climb rapidly into the Heavens. Castles of grandeur appear before them and when the voice of the giant, symbolizing unregenerate and impure energies of the uninitiated would devour the tender aspirant and confine him to the tortures of fiery trial, he seizes the vine and clambers quickly down the stalk of aspiration to where his Mother, symbolizing the constant love of Nature for each lifestream, awaits him. Subsequently, with the sword of discrimination he severs the false vine of imbalanced aspiration, while destroying the power of the impure nature. Thereupon he returns to the home ground to master by God-Purity all the foes within of his own Divine Nature.
In addition to resembling the real, the error-spun teaching is often surrounded by sincere followers whose life's energies feed the matrix of error and lend respectability and creditability to its manifestation.
Let Me say most emphatically that many wonderful philosophies and teachings have been released by The Great White Brotherhood down through the ages. Some of these have been purposefully diluted in order to render them more palatable to the undeveloped consciousness. Saint Paul declared that he had fed the young Christians with milk for they could not yet absorb strong meat - spiritual meat (I Cor. 3:2). However, coming into greater manifestation as We are doing now and desiring to bless the Earth in an Age of Great Enlightenment, it is necessary that We call for greater Illumination on behalf of mankind so that the mists of doubt and fear may be dissolved and the wonderful power of Divine may stand forth as the Christ Wayshower for the healing of all nations.
We must have some means to directly disseminate Our Light, and this must be graded in such a manner as to reach the various states of consciousness expressed by men. We can hardly seek to please the orthodox concepts or to influence people with an appeal which will strengthen their own ego, seeing that the blessed ego, when wrongly pampered, is the cause of all human suffering. Therefore, in blazing forth the Flame of Illumination with that full potency for which the students of Higher Law have called, We recognize that some offense may be given to the human consciousness. This is not only a calculated risk, but it is a forthright act of Virtue and Courage!
We have not at this point attempted any naming of names or the direct pinpointing of error, but We have and do call to the attention of the students who sincerely wish to please God rather than men or even their own clouded concepts that DISCRIMINATION must be used not only in eating physical food but also in maintaining a balanced spiritual diet.
The Ascended Masters are at once safe teachers and loving Initiators and Initiates. They have experienced first hand the difficulties encountered by the spiritual aspirant on the Path. I would like to point out again that spiritual aspiration must not be sought as a means of escape from the realities of Life. Karma cannot be vicariously dissolved but must be balanced by the one who initiated it. It is, however, vitally true that the Flames of Mercy and Freedom are God's provisions of the Sacred Fire anchored within Man and awaiting his employment on behalf of personal and world Freedom.
So many have heard that when the student is ready the Teacher will appear, but have not realized that much preparation is needed by the student who places far too much emphasis on the appearance of the Teacher as the hour signifying an easy deliverance. Actually, when the Teacher does appear, and is appearing through Our Words, it signals an epic of intense application and deliverance. It is not a symbol of ease and sloth, but of intensification of the action of the Sacred Fires of Purification and Harmony.
Illumination's Ray would make known to all that these things are so in order to unite the faithful upon Earth in the search for the reappearance of the Christ in the manifestation of the God-Man! The Second Coming of Christ would hardly be in order unless men were prepared to receive Him. That one is taken and another left signifies that in every age it is not the one who has cried Lord, Lord, who is chosen but those who have, in doing the Will of God, perceived that Will as keeping a balance of Love toward their fellow men. When men are vicious to one another and lack the quality of graciousness it does not stem from an action of the Christ. Likewise the difference between condemnation and judgment and pure Christ discrimination must be perceived. The former is an act of human consciousness, the latter of Illumination's Flame.
Now through the Power of Transformation the same manifestation changes its thoughts and feelings to become Godlike and beautiful. Former things are passed away and all things become new by the Power of Illumination in action. A discerning Heart is possessed of the quality of true Illumination and lacks the brittleness of mere intellect. The combination of an educated Heart and a disciplined Mind will enable men and women to use Wisdom's Flame to create the religious orders needed for the evolving consciousness of mankind, thereby fulfilling the projects of The Great Brotherhood of Light on behalf of the Earth. The products of the evolving religious systems and philosophies must be reflected in more wonderful lives and happier hours spent with the Great Presence of Life.
The Call to come up higher is always more effective if the one so summoned is made aware that it is not merely a summoning for a visit but rather for a promotion on the scale of planetary and Cosmic Initiation.
The total purposes of Illumination then must be related to the progress of individual Man by Initiation. Divine study must bring the fulfillment of divine merit based upon externalized virtue. This must be sought and attracted by deliberated intent. Initiation is superior to the mere attainment of knowledge or power, for these are usually lacking in Love and, therefore, unbalanced unless attained by the process of Divine Initiation whereby the Law of Balance is called from the eternal scene and summoned into the chalice of the moment. Thus is the Elixir of Saint Germain merited, and in this manner is the mighty stream of Eternal Life, the Fountain of Youth, invoked as a manifestation of ETERNAL GRACE called forth for the purpose of expressing the Great Archetypal Perfection in the blessed environmental structure with which God has surrounded thee.
