Beloved of the Light: I am grateful beyond words for the very marvelous way the Darjeeling Council has started the New Year by releasing so much Light to manifest as world and personal guidance. The address of Beloved Omri-Tas and the invaluable council of Beloved Mighty Cuzco both stress the need for control of thought and feeling by each student and every lifestream.
Always remember, blessed ones, that when frozen extremes of winter grip men in an icy blast or the burning heat of summer withers away vegetation and seems to almost wilt the very soul, that somewhere the ideal climate is manifesting perfectly! There the children of God are basking in the blessing of natural loveliness while elsewhere the pangs of struggle are experienced. It is ever thus in the Ascended Master consciousness, for there, numberless ascended ones are ever expressing the love and victory of God, seeking in immortal transcendence the precious but elusive ultimate!
Why, then, must others equally loved by God remain in the long night of human despair and the lethargy of human recalcitrance? When I first won my ascension, I determined to anchor myself in the highest octaves of light, yet remain connected with civilization in order to continue my assistance to men and women seeking to know the manifold meaning of freedom. A successive series of cooperative attempts by beloved El Morya, Kuthumi, Djwal Kul and others of the Hierarchy serving together with me reached out to illumine and heal mankind. These efforts swept across human consciousness as a divine Theo-Sophia - a holy wisdom - and found a height of expression with the release of the I AM instructions, making mankind's return Home a way of loveliness and simplicity.
Dear ones, it is so easy to complicate, so easy to lose one's own thought in a maze of human nonsense. I must eulogize the simple way of acknowledging your unity with your own I AM Presence, proving the eternal fact that "I and my Father are one." By giving your attention to your great God Self and maintaining harmony, any and all doors into octaves of light will be opened unto you!
Hundreds of religions serve to confuse the seeker as to what is right and what is truth. The exponents of diverse political systems add to the general melee. Confusion so often causes inertia and indecision, which in turn give rise to apathy, indifference and a careless attitude based on a loss of hope concerning divine matters, frequently leading to a negative cynicism and enmeshment in the pitfalls of materialism.
Religion, intended to tie men to the wings of their own divinity, has been turned into a mere commercial venture. Those in bondage to materialism do not know the meaning of freedom and therefore cannot express it themselves or show others how to do so. As a result of this density, the kingdom of heaven suffers the violence of false prophets and hypocrites within those very institutions which profess to lead men to their salvation. Such incorrect teachings have delayed victory for mankind and hindered the manifestation of the divine plan upon earth for ages.
Of all the hindrances facing spiritual movements, the greatest has been personality. Egocentricity has paved the way for the "riptides" to which the souls of men have been subjected. Negative influences which have opened the door to discord have fundamentally been: jealousy, covetousness, feelings of inferiority. . of being "left out," of lack and a diminishing faith based on uncertainties which creep into men's minds because of their very wish to be certain! These influences are often very subtle. Other negative energies which have increased the perils in life are anger (both righteous and unrighteous), hatred masquerading in the cloak of self-righteousness, malice, gossip, thoughtless and ungoverned speech stemming from restlessness, wrong habits of thought and feeling excesses, and laxity in exercising spiritual protection, prayer and attunement.
Because this is a year of great destiny I AM determined to speak out and declare that when students representing the Light express themselves in a negative manner, their errors unjustly reflect upon the teacher and the teaching. It is extremely unfair for our students to receive our blessings and protection without performing in divine gratitude a genuine labor of love on behalf of the Light. They should at least try to manifest the qualities which it is reasonable to suppose we of the Ascended Masters' octave embody. The closer men approach the Light, the more clearly defined become the shadows - however unfortunate this fact may seem, it is the law. The dearest seekers are sometimes prone to fall a bit short of the high mark of our calling because of the intensity of that which is directed against them.
When you take your stand for the Light, the touts (spies) of life sometimes rush forth to test you! Included in this testing are the "riptides" which blessed and beloved Cuzco has so kindly explained to you. The thoughts of his heart and the amazing ritual of protection, which the students can memorize and use daily to keep themselves from becoming victims of uncontrolled energies in themselves and others, is a great boon indeed. You see, this loss of control usually occurs when individuals do not act or react in the manner expected of them.
It is the opinion of the World council of be Great White Brotherhood that the interest of world security is best served by alerting the students of this teaching to the great need to express all the God-perfection of which they are capable in this age of enlightenment. Blessed pupils, your problems are not new ones for they have perennially plagued the earth for countless generations. I am, however, hopeful now for the permanent solution of this problem of controlling one's energy. To all the metaphysical and deeply spiritual people of the world who so lovingly determined to be Exemplars to the race by calling forth enough Light, Love and Illumination from their own Mighty I AM Presence, I AM offering our willing assistance.
As the entire earth is now entering an era of consummate regeneration, it is of paramount importance that freedom from binding habits be achieved and that the general good be served even above so-called enlightened self-interest! Consider how many of us who are your Ascended Master friends take our time, interest and energy to assist you in many small ways and especially in times of distress. Would it not be a matter of divine valor, then, for men and women who love to speculate on the meaning of being a chela of the Ascended Masters to expand their faith enough to follow our example without thought of personal reward? Would this not be expressing true faith in God, in his perceptions, which count even the numberless hairs of one's head, and in the exact justice of the Karmic Board?
The cosmic law cannot be cheated, nor will it defraud you of any blessing to which you are entitled, of this I am certain. It has been the merciful policy of the Karmic Board to give a greater measure of blessings to mankind than men have recognized for such is the economy of heaven and its limitless portion!
Beloved Morya has been supremely patient, and - ever mindful of the cosmic tides and great forces playing upon the earth, her hopes, her perils and her aspirations - he continues to plan and devise means of assisting the governments and people of the world to live in order that they might serve and play together beneath the banner of real divine love.
You will be advised through this media of the Ascended Masters of plans for the coming year. New projects with which you can assist are contemplated, and I am sure the sincere shall respond to them with alacrity, Ascended Master determination, and that forthrightness of spirit which transforms every defeat into an agency of victory.
Watch this year, then, with wakefulness - I AM blessing you with divinely measured courtesy whose unlimited nature expands God within you.
