The fire of God does attend us, beloved, even as we attend it. In the tending of the fire, one comes to the realization in the flame of God-Reality that only the fire can tend the fire. Thus, those who come with votive lights borne to the altar are bringing the kindling light of the threefold flame, that the altar light might glow and light a world.
From the heart of the Cave of Light in India, I speak to you. You know me as the Great Divine Director and yet know me not. You know my vibration, Keepers of the Flame. You know the fruit of the decree given first from my heart to yours through the Messenger Mark and then from your heart through his own back to me again.
Thus, you are the echo of my love, even as I am the echo of yours. And cosmos is as a giant sounding board, reverberating from the farthest reaches of Spirit unto Matter and hopefully returning again.
So often the ball does not bounce as high as it has fallen. And thus, it is difficult for it on its own to gain momentum to return to the source. The principle of gravity is well known to the child who will bounce a ball or dribble it, knowing, then, the pressure that must be exerted for the desired results.
You have come to an adaptability with the feeling of what is known as gravity upon earth. After all, it is in fact your karmicweight and the karmic weight of the planet that contributes much to that which is known as gravity, which, of course, also has physical causes.
Beloved ones, the ascent, then, can be calculated and it can be known. The descent, even as known by a child who comes down a slide, is much easier than the ascent. The tending of the flame, then, beloved - as we pick up the thread of the teaching concerning the Sacred Heart and the threefold flame in this conference - is given unto you for a mighty action of the conservation of life on earth, the establishment of that focus of the Great Central Sun Magnet at the Inner Retreat, and the drawing of those souls of Light who must rise yet cannot yet rise on their own but must learn the way of the fountain of the Divine Mother and the descending current from the heart of the Father that never ends.
Is it not interesting, then, that the most economical building should also be the most spiritually efficacious? Thus, the Circle of Light can be drawn and the Great Central Sun Magnet can be builded by souls tending the flame.
I am grateful to speak to you in this hour - the hour of Saint Germain's return to the field of battle as your Knight Commander - thus preparing in this winter season, as it were, in the etheric quadrant of the year, consuming old records, records of an ancient enmity, tending to the righting of injustices, the setting of the record straight and the drawing of the line: "Thus far and no farther!"
These activities in law are also a part of building the foundation and preparing the work unseen that must lie beneath the buildings to be enjoyed. It is like tending to the preparation of the prophets - to tear down and destroy before one can build.1
Thus, certain levels of consciousness and those who have tarried too long as enemies of the Church must be dealt with. And, beloved, this too is the tending of the flame. For the flame itself has an assignment. And while it must burn and consume the debris that hangs on to the body of the Church, it cannot explode and expand by tremendous proportions to reach out to the planetary home. Thus, we move from the narrowness of confines of this rectangle to an expanded awareness of spherical being.
I come to prompt you, then, to consider your own expansion and that the outer sign of the building of the Inner Retreat is also a beckon to your soul, demanding the housecleaning, the clearing out of the basement, the setting of the record straight, putting your house in order, and being in congruency with the law of your inner being. If the Church is to expand, all things within and without must be just and pure and holy and in conformity to both the inner and the outer geometry.
The Masters have spoken on a number of occasions concerning the dedication to the building of this Inner Retreat and to the process involved as the perfecting of the inner temple of man. It is not an easy task, this perpetual labor of the divine ritual. So often souls are burdened by economic concerns and often justly so, for in this world necessities must be squarely faced. We have said it before and we continue to see the expanding of the base of the pyramid as the key to the fulfillment of the divine plan in all.
But we must also say to you, beloved, that those who are qualified - and I must say that qualification begins with the quality of the Sacred Heart - ought to consider, then, where they are directing and where they might direct their attention, their desires and goals, professionally and educationally.
I can assure you that those who are most qualified, who are the experts in their fields, who are a part of this staff, this white fire core of the Community, could easily enjoy being at the top of their fields in the professions of the world and many have done so. These are not society's rejects. These are not dismembered or partial people, having psychological incompleteness, but rather those whose foreheads have met the forehead of the Mind of God in meditation, in planning, and in the fervor to go before us and to pave the way for the Great White Brotherhood on earth. Keepers of the Flame around the world in their respective areas of service are likewise flaming ones, firebrands of the LORD.
Now, beloved, the equation moves up. It accelerates. And there is a moment again, a pause as a cosmic interval, that each one might consider his livelihood, his sacred labor, the needs of his family, and what focus of attention he may place upon the all-important cause of the preparation of the Inner Retreat.
Thanks to the decrees you have given, certain areas of concern in this civilization and in this nation have been alleviated and there have been a number of changes that have taken place for the better. Thus, in some respects the world looks brighter for the moment, and in other respects conditions that were abuilding are still building and still growing in a great wave of returning Darkness of world karma.
There is no doubt that the light invoked here and around the world in these three months has become as pillars and electrodes planted in the earth by Hercules for the staying of the hand of certain projected manifestations of world karma. But it cannot be expected - and you yourselves have understood the reaching of the human limitation in doing decree work - that a handful of souls such as these may become the finger in the dike for every upheaval, social concern, impending war, terrorist activity, problem in the economy, and so forth. It is evident, however, that a group of determined chelas may make a considerable and even an enormous difference in the alchemy of world change and in that which may be coming upon the earth in the hours of transition.
It is not difficult, then, for anyone to see that the multiplication of the x factor of this quantity of chelas, this quotient itself, when multiplied again and again, could have extremely desirable results on a national and a world scale. Taking the same firepower to direct toward the cleaning out of this hemisphere of North and South America is of utmost importance to us.
Parallel with that is the great concern we have over the increase in drug use in America and around the world and those involved internationally as the spiritually wicked in high places,2 the fallen ones and laggards, foul spirits who make merchandise of the bodies not only of the children and youth but of adults as well.
These areas could well be tackled in summer seminars at the Inner Retreat. We desire to see the spiritual teaching balanced with an in-depth study of perhaps the five key areas that could make the difference in world change - such as oil, the economy, drugs, and the international capitalist/communist conspiracy.
You understand, because you have been taught the nature of Absolute Evil, that when taking on Darkness on a planetary scale, you very quickly arrive at the confrontation with the adepts of the left-handed path, black magicians on inner planes, and those in embodiment who move in the circles of money and power and the movement of goods and drugs illegally around the planet. Thus, beloved, tackling the conditions that make the difference on a planet demands a concentration of your lifestreams, for your own protection, in one place together, focusing on these very concerns. When this takes place, you will see, area by area, how the world can be lifted.
Our desire for summer seminars every year, even on a larger scale than contemplated this year, is for the bringing together of souls from around the world in a veritable Spiritual Unity of Nations (SUN) where the conditions, for instance, of abortion or drugs may be focused upon nation by nation. And those coming as representatives of those nations may bring up-to-date information on the circles of power involved in their areas.
Then there is the problem of false religion and those misrepresenting the Great White Brotherhood who come in imitation, who speak of their contact whether with UFOs or those whom they call "superbeings" or other such ones [of the false hierarchy] that have appeared to them. This is a most dangerous occurrence that is taking place as those who sense the wave of the new age and also begin to have psychic sensitivity through drug use contact, then, powerful beings on the astral plane, remnants of Atlantis and Lemuria who have come to draw away many souls from their own I AM Presence.
Thus, although it is not well to think of this daily, it is important to consider for the moment, Keepers of the Flame, that, in fact, you are in the midst of a very intense war. And this particular period concerning the lawsuit has given you an understanding of just what you can master in battle array, how you can deal with the sense on an ongoing basis that forces of Death and Hell are very much dedicated to the destruction of all Light3 and Freedom4 and free nations on the planet. Seeing the Light oncoming and the saints robed in white, they can only make haste to wreak their destruction all over the planet in every way - whether chemically by pollution, whether by nuclear war or drugs or in the swift fabrication of false religions, pseudo-cults of every kind.
Beloved ones, we could focus on the twelve lines of the [Cosmic] Clock and in the quadrants those points of gravest concern to the Darjeeling Council. We would like to bring you together as a dedicated body who have come to the realization that though there be professions and courses and all manner of things that can be done in the world, all these things will appear as ashes and useless if our Cause is lost.
If you would consider, as I have seen, how dedicated are the forces in embodiment of individuals in this nation and around the world who are determined to destroy this Church, this Messenger, and this assembly, you yourselves would come to the point of understanding that as they are dedicated on a full-time basis for the entrapment and the turning back of this Cause, so you must also join on a full-time basis in the dedication of the Great White Brotherhood and those already serving its Cause.
Those servants whom you see here at Camelot and at the Inner Retreat and in the Teaching Centers are carrying on a maximum effort to maintain their posts of expansion, of publishing, and of working the Inner Retreat as is to be done. You also have your maximum challenges where you are.
The principle of Community, as you know, beloved, is that many services required by all, when combined in an organization of Community, give to each member of the Community more time and more freedom to spend on the things that they hold dear, which, concurrently and in a parallel fashion, happen to be the very things that are essential to their acceleration and the path of the ascension at the conclusion of this life.
If I were you - and I AM yourself in action - if I were in embodiment now - and I AM each time you welcome me into your heart - I would consider the odds. I would look at those who have determined and succeeded in destroying such groups as Rajneesh, in crippling the Hare Krishnas, and who aim to do so to Scientology and many other churches in small cases.
What they have done to these groups, beloved, they are very certain they will also do in one way or another to this Church. And they will not stop with this case, but they will continue to attempt to find ways and means of destroying the Light because they themselves are of the Darkness5 and they know that this Light is for their judgment and for the golden age.
I say to you, then, as I speak to you from my altar in India, arcing the light to this altar, that this altar and this room that is called the Sanctuary of the Holy Grail is the most important room on the planet. For here is the consecrated altar, the focus of Elohim, and the place where you gather to offer those decrees, where the sermons are preached and all of the tapes and the material does feed and nourish the groups around the world. Here they are prepared. Here they go forth.
Until, therefore, the church at the Inner Retreat is built and ready to immediately receive all that can be accomplished here in that place, we cannot approve the leaving of Camelot. We cannot pull up stakes. For this is the vessel whence the Light proceeds.
Beloved ones, we anticipate that in a spherical building, with a larger seating capacity and the transfer of the altar there, that dedication of that temple will be the signal whereby many will be able to proceed to the Inner Retreat and the staff here may pull up stakes.6
You ask, what does this have to do with the date of January 1, 1987?7 This has burdened the hearts of those who are planning and working and would like to be ready on that date. I tell you, beloved, the Great White Brotherhood strives at inner levels and takes all of the light that you give in decrees for the holding of the balance in world conditions. The earthquake in Mexico City did release a great deal of pressure in this area of the globe. And you have also noticed earthquake and volcanic activity in the same line from the North to the South Pole.
You will understand, then, that by the decrees of the students and only by the violet flame is the balance held. We anticipate, then, that the balance will be held. And we anticipate that those who understand the equation will support and assist the building of that temple so that it will be complete in 1987 and not go over into the next year.
We do not predict certain calamity or world changes, nor did beloved Archangel Michael in giving that dictation. He called your attention to a very key date - one which has been explained to you as a spiritual date, marking readiedness, preparedness, and your being in the right place. The right place must be the place of spiritual fire and in the ark of safety.
This, then, is the ark as the vessel which we have in this hour. We trust, then, as the cycles turn and all of elemental life and the angelic hosts support the move of the children of the Light to that higher ground, that those conditions will be in balance on the planet and that you will pinpoint the areas that are most volatile and most apt to increase danger to the Light. We have mentioned this as being the increase of Communism in this hemisphere, aided and abetted, again, by world capitalism. It is the conspiracy itself that must be tackled.
Beloved ones, the securing of the bastions of Liberty in this nation is always your concern. It is the concern of Lightbearers around the world. I can assure you when you mount an all-out decree assault on World Communism and its supporters, you will find yourselves in the midst of a heavy battle. And you must be forewarned again that the Archangel Michael Rosary and the Alternate Preamble must be given constantly for the protection of yourselves and your families that the backlash of witchcraft does not cause them to become crazed and behave not as their usual selves and the riptide tear them from the path of their First Love.
The protection of family and community while engaging in the battle of the forces of Armageddon is, beloved - like it or not, relish it or not - your lot. It is your lot because you have determined to make your ascension in this life.
Acceleration is a word you hear often in the dictations. It is a very important word because it reminds you that yesterday's levels of attainment are not sufficient for today, and tomorrow's challenge will only test again the mettle and the fiber.
There are only so many things that this organization can accomplish on a world scale in this geographical location. We need the mountains and the forests and the open skies and the Yellowstone River itself and all that lies beneath in the strata of the rock and the fire itself to transmit to the earth body the resounding and the reverberations of the dynamic decrees. The energies of the decrees given here in Los Angeles are in many instances immediately soaked up by the ten million souls that are in this Southern California area. And thus their impact does not always reach farther around the globe.
This is to be understood in holding a focus in a metropolis; but, beloved, the action is a great assistance to the lifestreams here. But this organization was not founded to keep one city, but it is for the keeping of a planetary body.
Thus, we set our sights on a goal. But the response of Keepers of the Flame worldwide determines how this goal may be accomplished. I can assure you, as you yourselves know, that you who are here and you who are in the field do accomplish the maximum effort that you can. We know your sacrifice and your striving. And we know that the present staff moves beyond the limits of the physical to perform their service, yet with good cheer, faithfulness, and the holding of the vision, the promise, and the trust.
Thus, beloved, again, it must be an equation of the geometry of multiplication. And this can be done best from the Inner Retreat. It will be done better after the conclusion of the current case. It is truly an hour of a springboard to Victory.
I encourage you, then, to realize that concerning the date, the ball has always been in your court. We have hurled it and you have done, for the most part, your very, very best. Those who can do more and give more, we encourage you to do so - not by might or by power, but by the Spirit of the LORD in your Sacred Heart,8 by the expansion of the heart flame.
Thus, we will send our Messenger, finding the readied souls and the Lightbearers. And thus, we expect a reasonable recognition on your part that your lawful and acceptable service must be to be there as shining ones to receive them when they come. For many Lightbearers in the world today are astute concerning the paths of East and West. And they know immediately when they see a chela or a disciple what is the quality of the aura. Thus, the Teacher and the Messenger are judged by the presence of the disciple.
Remember, then, the lesson - all are agents9 of the Church, all are indeed agents of the Great White Brotherhood. Thus, play your role and play it well, beloved. For truly that circular Temple Beautiful is waiting to be lowered out of the etheric octave.
We bid you welcome to the mighty blue sphere of our causal body now descending round each one, that your divine plan may be seen, as we have said, to have a point of convergence with the greatest needs of our Brotherhood and our civilization in this hour.10
With the perfect love of the Divine One, I seal you, then, in an inner sphere of Love, that you might swim in a sea of Love as though in the womb of the Divine Mother of cosmos herself and find your place in the heart of the Lord Christ, who is risen, is risen, is risen in your midst!
The Maha Chohan with me now in India seals you in this moment in the flame of Life and Liberty that you keep. Keepers of the Flame, we are grateful for your presence on earth, for your knowing, for your wisdom, and for your genuine application of Love in the practical defense of this Church and Messenger through every trial. So we stand by you as you have stood by us. And we look forward to a further lightening of the load of planet earth as you have learned and will continue to put into practice what it means to carry on a marathon in matters of Life and Death.
We who see all things know that everywhere on earth life does hang in this balance. And for many it is a question of whether or not they shall survive spiritually.
Rejoice, then, to be on a planet where so much is demanded of you and therefore where God-Mastery is a mandate and a victory that can be claimed.

This dictation by the Great Divine Director was delivered through the Messenger of the Great White Brotherhood Elizabeth Clare Prophet on Holy Saturday, March 29, 1986, during the 5-day Easter conference, Conclave of the Friends of Christ, held at Camelot, Los Angeles County, California, USA. Before the dictation, Rev. Edward L. Francis gave an update on the Inner Retreat.
In the name of the beloved mighty victorious Presence of God, I AM in me, my very own beloved Holy Christ Self, Holy Christ Selves of all mankind, the beloved Great Divine Director, beloved Lanello, the entire Spirit of the Great White Brotherhood and the World Mother, elemental life - fire, air, water, and earth! I call for divine direction throughout my affairs, the activities of The Summit Lighthouse, the governments of the nations, and all Ascended Master activities, worlds without end:

Seal me in thy ray -
Guide me to my Home
By thy Love I pray!
Refrain: Thy blue belt protect my world,
