The Undiscovered Wonders of the Unknown God

To the Steadfast Seeker for Truth:

Cell memory! How many times has it been interfered with? Yet how wonderful is the process whereby each cell of man's being is endowed with the wondrous patterns evolving in the very Mind of the Godhead. By the acceptance of the perfection of God, man is able to maintain himself in a framework of harmony and joy. In all of the wonders of science, nothing seems so complete to me as the memory of the cell.

The ability to work change is inherent within the domain of man's free will; hence men speak of cell mutation without regard to the process of transmutation whereby benign change can be consistently directed, both by man as the initiator and by God as the Preceptor under whose unerring guidance the inherent patterns of perfection reappear.

When long ago I spake, "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him,"1 it was in the dawning awareness and conscious sense of the magnificence of the original design of the universe executed by the Grand Architect thereof.

I marvel how men work amidst all of the superb scientific principles upon which the design of the universe was framed, without taking notice of them or their colossal presence in the undergirdings of creation. And once again I must cite, in this time of advancing technology, the undiscovered wonders of the unknown God2 - unknown because mankind realize but a farthing of their own potential, and very little of His.

Men agree that God is mysterious, and they seem content to leave the universe a cloistered but awesome manifestation. Yet God and Nature have already declared themselves unto man: "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth His handywork."3 Nevertheless, through blindness of heart and dullness of semantics, men have failed to perceive the unity of the Whole, blazing before them as the noontide of Reality.

When the correct concept of the Universal Christ is apprehended by man, he can more easily perceive that all things were made by Him.4 In view of the fact that man's life and consciousness, being patterned after the cycles of soul evolution, are subject to change, it is understandable that the natural movement of the soul tethered to the will of God is also toward transcendence "from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."5 However, when tethered to the human will, the outer mind aborts the natural tendency of the soul to rise; and any change that is wrought follows a downward spiral leading not from glory to glory, but to mutations in the personality, both subtle and violent. This is that pride in self-sufficiency which goeth before the fall6 of man's energies into the density of the astral.

In ages past on the continents of Lemuria and Atlantis, long before the fiat of God went forth, "Henceforth shall every seed bear after its kind!" frightful mutations and weird forms were created through the experiments of black magicians. This misuse of the divine procreative seed caused the Lords of Karma to decree the destruction of the test-tube creations through the Noachian Deluge. After the Flood, the earth, cleansed and purified by the washing of the water, was once again brimming with the hope of new Life and more noble ideas. Yet only in the Edenic state, where the will of God is honored and communion with Him sought as the ultrachoice of man, can the complete restoration of perfection be achieved.

Unfortunately, those pseudospiritual scientists who invade the lower astral real7 for the extension of their schemes - for they have neither the attainment nor the self-discipline that is required to function in higher planes - are often content with making what is termed evolutionary astral progress instead of moving steadily forward, from glory to glory, through the initiations of the Hierarchy. In their mad craze for personal grandeur, phenomena, and power over others, they fail to apprehend Life's opportunity and the fiery destiny of man. They do not understand the fact that the days can and should be shortened,8 and not prolonged, by the deliberate stewardship of the sons of God working in harmony with His holy purposes on the Path of self-mastery prescribed by The Great White Brotherhood.

Those who sidestep the true and only Path of attainment learn by devious methods and the misuse of the chakras to create vortices of darkness on the astral as well as the physical plane; thus they establish hypnotic forcefields of control whereby they exert an unwholesome influence over embodied and disembodied souls. Unwilling to surrender their human will and thereby receive the reward of the faithful - conscious dominion over the earth - these practitioners of the black arts usurp the authority of the Godhead and plunge headlong into the pits of astral delusion.

How tragic! They have never learned that their desires for mastery would have been satisfied by the Great Alchemist Himself had their motives been pure. They have never known the joy of legitimate attainment achieved through honest striving in humility, in love, and in obedience to cosmic law. They have not seen that there is no need for subterfuge and that, had they been willing, they might have entered in at the straight gate.9

By learning to restore the natural function of cells made in the imaged perfection of God's intent, man will also discover the secret of restoring all things, including his lost estate and the science of healing and alchemical precipitation demonstrated by Christ Jesus. But he must also determine to avoid the pitfalls of an evil generation. For not in relative good and evil, but in the consciousness of the Edenic perfection of God alone will the body cells - and the cells in the Body of God - resume their balanced function according to that perfect law of cycles which absolves man from the stain of mortality.

The everlasting Life,10 envisioned by Christ as the lot of every man, is the hope of God for His creation. Physically, mentally, and spiritually, the change from glory to glory can occur as man is willing to burn away the barrier sheaths of his mortal consciousness by the Flame of the Holy Spirit that clearly reveals the purposes of Life.

These purposes are not for the prolongation of strife, unfounded dogma, or astral speculation, but for the universal revelation of the original Truth of God locked within the memory of the cell. What a pity it is that mankind, in all of their seeking, have failed to apprehend and apply the cosmic science even as they have failed to make practical the simple faith of a little child that is within their grasp, that faith in the ultimate yet ever-present goodness of God which makes their fondest dreams come true!

In the domain of our immortal destiny is the certification of the purpose of Life for each man who sees at last in his unity with the Presence of Perfection the Reality that from the beginning was and is the purpose of God. He came neither to divide nor to unify good and evil; for He said, "I came not to send peace, but a sword."11 Yet He was called the Prince of Peace.12

The enmity between the seed of the serpent and the seed of the woman is the natural enmity of the carnal mind with the Christ. Mutually repellent, the seeds of Light and darkness cannot dwell together harmoniously in the same consciousness any more than a man can serve two masters, as Jesus taught, "for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other."13 Of a certainty, "the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be."14

A jagged concept, a distorted image, is all that is needed to separate man from the pristine reality of the kingdom. The kingdom of God is real! It is within you all.15 It "is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost."16 Even so, those who have found this inner kingdom can draw forth material substance through their expanded awareness of the laws of spiritual abundance.

As an armor of Light, the spirit of cosmic purpose should be put on by the man who is faced with the challenges of today. Then, as David of old, he can say with complete trust, "Thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption."17 Through a giant faith in his allotted longevity and a burst of awareness of the gift of immortality that lies in his hands, he perceives the need to bring himself into harmony with the laws of the universe that he might take full advantage of his cosmic opportunity. It is as if man were emerging from a darkened cave, a labyrinth of struggle and hopelessness; but once the mouth of the cave is behind him, the Light and beauty of God completely sever his ties to the darkness of his former state and he enters into that eternal sense of the burning Light that never fails.

In the Revelation of Saint John it is written of the Holy City, "There shall be no night there."18 Thus, in the resurrection of the Christ Consciousness, the Light banishes the darkness, and the triumph of the original cell memory is acclaimed. With the full restoration of his spiritual faculties, man experiences the victory of the Light within his consciousness. This is the culmination of the grand experiment of conferment whereby God, vesting man with a spiritual and a cosmic birthright, establishes in him forever the Christic principle of immortal Life.

Through the soul science of inner perception and Light penetration, man can ultimately dissolve, for himself and the entire planetary body, the spider webs of shadow that ensnare the race in doctrinal struggle. Through the perception of the one Light of God, the Light of Love that floods the earth unconfined by temples made with hands,19 men will come to know the Christ as the salvation of the world.

Above persons, places, and conditions, yet inherent as the chief cornerstone20 of Life, the brilliant image of the only begotten Son of the Father, full of grace and truth,21 will be seen in the glimmer of hope that flows freely within the heart of every cell and atom of creation. Thus does Omnipresence console those burdened hearts who await the flash of God-awareness within the soul.

Devotedly, promoting the inner tutelage of the firm and wondrous Law of Being, I remain

Hilarion

7 The astral plane is the next above the physical in refinement; following that is the mental, and then comes the etheric. These planes, together with the physical, correspond to the four lower bodies of unascended man and planetary bodies. Corresponding to the emotional body, the astral plane contains the records of mankind's emotional evolvement and, as such, has become the repository of seething vortices of hatred, fear, terror, records of death and destruction and the biding place of entities and discarnates, whose consciousness has an affinity with these astral vibrations. At the mental and lower etheric levels of the earth, we also find the accumulations of the patterns of the mass consciousness. Therefore, only in the high etheric plane and in the Ascended Master octaves of perfection do we find purity and a reliable source of inspiration and instruction. For this reason the Masters have advised their students to shun contact with the lower planes until mankind themselves are perfected.
