The Leap of the God Flame

Flames of Faith, Kindled by His Love:

In one of your earthly tomes there are written these words: "For of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these: 'It might have been!"'1

What folly it is to pursue a pathway of thought that droppeth to the ground devoid of meaning or fulfillment! Faith was written by the hand of God. By it He framed all manifestation. Let the dregs of past ages, the historical record of man's infamy, and the burden of Egyptian bondage be no more as a darkening plague!

Instead, open the eyes of the spirit that you may see; for mortal eyes, blinded by the mad rush of world events, can scarcely make out the purposes of heaven. But inner eyes, opened in the childlike wonder of a newfound faith, can commence to string upon the great rosary of life's experiences that response to faith which evokes the leap of the God-Flame.

Content with the creature comforts, man at times does not understand the meaning of Life. Caught in the net of negative spirals and his own degenerate karma, he does not rightly put together the story of his own life. How, then, can he be expected to put together the drama of the ages and the lives of others? Yet human attitudes are so blithe, and at the same time so prone to belittlement, molded as they are in the age-old spirit of mockery. Long established in the business of tearing apart, they seldom reckon with the intense need, from both a spiritual and a material standpoint, to put together.

I AM an Archangel, and I deal with the passions and feelings of Gods and men. When I speak of "Gods," I trust you will understand that there is but one Lord - "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord!" remains the fiat of the ages - but there are many sons and daughters who have begun to exhibit that self-mastery and cosmic control which lead to higher initiation and engagement in the eternal track of universal certitude. They have become, as it were, Gods in their own domain. These, too, must be reckoned with - these Cosmic Beings, Ascended Masters, Angels, Archangels and Mighty Elohim; for they have become co-creators with Him by virtue of the Godlike qualities they have externalized.2

Finite man seldom thinks on such as these - servant sons who have risen in the cosmic peerage to adorn the heavens with His expanding Love. And this is the meaning of the statement, "Ye are Gods!" cited by Jesus who had the courage to preach the cosmic truth that every manifestation of God has the opportunity of becoming Godlike, even as the Father is in them and they are in Him.3

The faith of mortals is usually centered around this one or that one among their contemporaries, for whom they have changing esteem or contempt. What a pity! For all men are becoming, all men are evolving, even when the forward movement can only be measured in inches. Let men learn, then, to have faith in the potential of their own evolvement, and let them accord the same to others; for the arc of God stretches across the heavens and reaches the life of each individual according to his capacity to receive.

Human turbulence is confined to a finite span by divinely imposed proscription; nevertheless, its unfortunate sphere of influence includes other men evolving within that given span. Thus the vortices of malevolence which have accumulated upon the planet Earth are attested by the fact that the angels of my band, when coming into the realm of Earth, wear crystalline helmets of cosmic light substance that are impervious to dense human vibrations and thoughts of faithlessness.

Would it not be more beneficial to the evolution of the individual, as well as to that of the race, if your thoughts - everyone's thoughts - were more constructive and were not so wedded to the past history of human infamy? The plays and novels that are written, the dramas that are unfolded before the eyes of the very young so frequently contain within them elements of human passion rehearsed over and over again. Yet mankind is seldom bored by his own depredation; and the relatively few choose the outlet, so temporary and so destructive, of human suicide.4

Let all understand that Life is meant to be a progressive outreach, an experience in Faith, Hope and Charity, an onward movement for the elusive perfection man seldom finds but often feels impelled to seek. But where are they seeking? Not in the realm of perfection, but in the domain of the familiar, in the transitory world which they have called the stable, which to us is most turbulent and uncertain.

Let them turn to faith in God and in the divine plan. Let them not continue to lament the failure of heaven to appear, when all around them the drama of heaven is appearing, and the only failure is man's failure to recognize that God is, and that God does appear in all of nature and in all of man as the sublime outreach of the immortal Spirit toward perfection and hope.

What a strengthening comes to man when he becomes willing to accept change in his own life. And this change should not be temporal but wedded to a spirit of ongoingness. His must be the realization that the cogs of progress are geared to a cosmic chain capable of raising an entire civilization, if man wills it so.

As surely as the canopy of a blue heaven is overhead, so in moments of faith that refuse to be shaken, man can consciously tether himself to the Holy Will of God. Each time individual man reaffirms his faith in the good and the real, this tethering creates a strengthening of the bond of purpose in every man, and the unshakable conviction that because God is, man is.

The duality of the ages - the Spirit that is, and the spirit that is becoming - showers upon mankind the opportunity of severing the veil between the reality of God and the reality of man. When he accepts the proffered gift through that valiant flow which is the spirit of overcoming victory, man understands his own divinity and the great fact that God wills it so. Then he is no longer a fatalist, wandering the streets of dense desire, forsaking his divine birthright, satisfying his hungers with the husks of life, again and again finding himself bereft of the very means of existence.

Once trapped by astral denizens, now he cries out in the pain of being clothed with unworthy garments, albeit they were made by his own hand. Now he asks to be delivered from the painful exigencies of his karma. He asks for Life; he seeks once again to walk the streets of Earth, to recapture a lost opportunity, to fulfill his newly found destiny. Spirit responds to his plea, and from the orb of opportunity he is launched into wholeness of being.

And so I speak of the Pathway. I speak of the spiritual Path. I speak of faith, and I trust that men will understand why we do not appear to the merely curious. When we have appeared as a man, they have maimed us. When we have appeared as a divine being, they have pointed the finger at themselves saying, "You hallucinate!" And so the only sign given by God to man is the sign of the prophet Jonah: As Jonah was in the whale's belly three days and three nights, so shall the son of man be in the Earth three days and three nights.5

Thus the drama of the life of Christ Jesus and of his crucifixion, death, and burial become, as a universal initiation, the story of every man's adventure in form; for that which is earth, earthy, that which is crucified in form, must rise into the realm of Spirit whence it came. Thus the spirit of man must also become willing to be molded and to mold others in the divine image. Rising at last into the realm of immortal Life, man becomes that faith which he seeks, a living faith of fire, tested for all ages and attesting the dignity of the Son of God. "Made a little lower than the angels," he is crowned with glory and honor.6

So do we exhibit the facets of eternal faith to every man, that he may be clothed and in his right mind, one with God, yet the servant of all.

The cosmic arch spanning the heavens reveals universal purpose. The magic of believing is the gateway to immortal Life.

In the name of Eternal Faith, I remain

Archangel Michael

4 By Karmic Decree those who take their lives are required to reembody immediately in circumstances similar to those from which they sought escape. This is done in order that the soul might learn that there is no escape from life's solemn responsibilities and sacred opportunity, and that he must stand, face and conquer right where he is.
