He Who Loves Best Serves Best

To Those Who Would Commune with the Flame of Life:

Green are the fields of Ceylon, beautiful in their own right the fields of India. Yet, to the Lord belongeth the harvest of men's hearts. They cry out for guidance when in turmoil and trouble. Then, content with their own small measures of attainment, they remain aloof from divine ideals. Little do some know of the virtues of the Holy Spirit and the mastery of the Ascended Jesus Christ Consciousness.

They speak of the Second Coming, but they do not understand that, above all, the attainment of the Great Master must come into their hearts. His Light, that does not fail in the highest dimension, must not and should not fail upon Earth. Man must not confuse his opportunity for rapport with the Holy Spirit with sense delights. He must see and hear behind the veil of matter the rippling of spiritual expansion. He must commune, if he would expand, with the higher thoughts of God that hover behind the visible form.

What composes the wheat - golden treasury of the bread of Life? Out of human greed men have robbed the golden waving grain of the natural life-giving elements. Because their control of the processing goes unchallenged, they continue to misuse modern methods of refinement, not to promote better health, but to deprive their fellowmen of the vital powers of Christ-wholeness contained within the natural grain. As they have done in the realm of the material creation, so have they done in the realm of the spiritual. The modern day robbery of the Christ potential at every hand is reminiscent of the words spoken long ago by one of the holy women: "They have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him."1

The knowledge of the Holy Spirit as the indwelling Presence is foolishly regarded by many to be a myth. Then, too, there are those whose longing for power and phenomena leads them to commune with the dark spirits that bestow "power without payment" - that is, without exacting that individual self-mastery which the Lord requires of His sons and daughters ere they receive the mantle of the Holy Spirit. Yet, the Cosmic Law clearly states that man must earn the right to do and to be that which he already is; for man is a dual being: he is manifestation and he is potential. And the word, "Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap," is a spiritual word of great promise; for in the bestowal by God of the right of every man to become the Christ, He has taken nothing from Jesus, whom He sent to exemplify that Christ Grace which is the Light of all.2

The Christ is the bestower of each man's own inherent cosmic identity, the power of the divine seed that lives within him. Invoking this power of the indwelling Christ, every man can create a furnace, white-hot, of aspiration that will draw to him the magnitude of the Cosmic Light by which the worlds were framed, by which the Christ was raised from the dead, by which all spiritual attainment, whether it be in Saint Francis or in Lord Gautama, was made.

Men speak of heathens and Christians. They speak of Jews and publicans. Yet they know not of what they speak when they speak of division. They know not of what they speak when they speak of oneness. Oneness is the Divine Nature of the Father-Mother God, it is the oneness of the Holy Spirit; whereas division is the self-created schism of men by which they sunder their bond with reality. Each man should understand his own divine potential as utterly important; for without that potential and the oneness of his Higher Self, he has no vehicle through which to express his devotion to God or to his fellowmen.

In assisting mankind to realize their God-appointed course, we would make plain that with the passing of the cycles and the years, when all is said and done, attainment, God-given, is the purpose of existence. Men are content to praise God when the highest praise of God is attainment. They are satisfied when their tiny needs are met. Little do they know of the great vacuum that exists within themselves which can be filled with the great treasury of the divine potential. Little do they know of the great opportunity that also lies within themselves. All of this is a part of the treasure of the Holy Spirit. It is a treasure of service; for he who loves best, serves best. And he who serves best has the greatest treasure.

As I gaze upon the waving grain and the rich vegetation, the green beauty of the foliage, I am reminded of the soul's inner beauty, nourished by the Holy Spirit. I am reminded of the Fire of the Sun that gleams in every heart. While the insects crawl upon the ground only to be crushed beneath the feet of man, the civilization of man and the marts of commerce march on, crushing beneath their feet the tender aspirations of the souls of men. Man does not fancy himself an ant pressed beneath the boot of world karma; yet in the Armageddonlike conspiracy of world karma that he is weaving from day to day - through his neglect of the Holy Spirit and his failure to properly train the young - his very life opportunity is being literally snuffed out.

In a recent meeting with me, the Members of the Indian Council spoke of the sending of grain to India by generous hearts in America. They talked of assistance that had come from many parts of the world, and at the same time they acknowledged that only the few in India and the world understand the need for the unification of the soul of man with his Real Self. Only the few understand this unification as a necessary prerequisite in combating inherent superstition, ignorance, and compounded failure that lead first to hopelessness and then to moral degeneration. The world has often sought an end to armed conflict; but who will end human bigotry, religious intolerance, and the scum of immorality that corrode the souls of men?

We are particularly concerned with those fresh lives - the babes and youths - who come into embodiment with the hope of a new opportunity of fulfilling their life plan. Their ancient karma, conspiring to produce unwholesome conditions in the domain of their individual consciousness, could, if mankind were only more wise, be so tenderly mitigated by the loving care of a more appropriate educational system, one that is less geared to the perpetuation of those human qualities men hold dear, which are nothing more than a passing chimera. Yet, again and again they have demonstrated a preference for whimsy while ignoring the need for universal brotherhood. Alas, their preferences, which reflect their improper training and lack of exposure to the culture of the Christ, have determined the course of history!

I have asked the Indian Council and the Karmic Lords to withhold, if possible, until Easter, certain impending cataclysmic developments upon the planetary body. The matter is in consideration before the Council.

Love remains in the universe, everywhere positioned to rush in with that valiant assistance for which man hopes. As in the time of the death of Lazarus, the Christ Spirit of the Resurrection yearns to bestow upon man and society that comfort which is not dependent upon either social or political conditions, but upon the receptive chalice of fiery hearts who genuinely love and move quickly to act without fear or favor.

I cannot foresee the advent of a world resurrection until there is a greater measure of world response. But I must urge those valiant disciples of Christ to continue to bring forth the divine manchild as a cosmic image in their minds, as a glyph of such strength as to make its mark upon the wall. Then the Lords of Karma, in seeing the handwriting on the wall and the weight of man's negativity, will also see that there are those whose every sacrifice and thought hold out against the darkness the magnificent torch of eternal Life.

To preserve the world in a sea of myriad lights is our hope. To preserve it as a platform of graduation for the millions evolving here who must learn to esteem the Love from the Heart of God: to preserve it as the prospect of a new resurrection of hope to mankind - this is our hope.

Charged with the Hope of the Holy Spirit, I remain the advocate of eternal Faith, Hope and Charity.
