The Strong Wind of Cosmic Purpose

May the Renewal of Peace Abide in All,

In the stillness of Purpose each new day is born. The responses of humanity either solve or create problems. Lingering struggles remain, but a new cast to the mind provides a strengthening to man that is both refreshing and determined. The marking of dates is lost in the ocean of Eternity, but those who sail upon the ship of time require coordinates that will prevent them from bobbing as a cork upon the sea. And so Destiny is born as an expanded vision.

The transcendent nature of Being has great meaning to the soul that is advancing in those giant strides that require an understanding of the Law of Transcendence. Lesser goals are also important. One's objective should always be to see to it that the Divinity that shapes the ends of man be given voice in his decision. The free will of man ought not to be the voice of permissiveness, but the voice that tethers the soul to those spiritually scientific patterns that have generated a flow of freedom to the souls of millions yet unborn.

Our concerns may delight the Godhead, but greater delight ensues with humanity's performance of God's Will. If men ponder the existence of God, they must open their eyes to see how the methods of the Cosmic Lords have infiltrated the planetary cycles of scientific progress, how the handwriting of Divine Fingers has inculcated in the souls of men bereft of their native purity a desire for true culture, for a code of honor in their dealings with one another, and for crystalline values that are never shattered by the boisterous activity in the marketplace.

In the olden days the few held within the folds of their consciousness the focus of man's infinite Identity and Purpose, while the masses played at competitive games involving an almost animalistic struggle for social and economic survival. The vultures of struggle amplified struggle, and Peace seemed far away. Yet Peace, O Hearts of Light, is a many splendored thing. It is a gesture of Infinity loving the finite into the Greatness of Itself. Peace is the Spirit of the Lord that ponders the little struggles of men - a grain of sand or a speck of dust that becomes a mountain of adversity to their weary souls. In Peace there is always the perspective of focused Reason imploring Destiny to hide behind the screen of the moment until man recaptures the vision of the total Plan.

At a time when Hierarchy faces many tests in its outreach to serve humanity, a more valiant response than that which has been invoked in any previous year must be elected by the true devotees, else there may well perish from the Earth those cultural values and virtues which pave the way for great souls to express great ideas in defense of the divinity of every man.

The balance of the genuine heart should remain undisturbed by the rumblings in the world order while possessing the flexibility of being moved by the gentle winds of the Spirit that bear fresh ideas from God's own Hand, from the realm of Cosmic Purpose. How else shall there be evoked in man a response that will produce the fulfillment of His Purposes in society? How else shall he hold for his fellows true perspective and brotherly love that are not swayed by the invectives of the multitudes?

I plead for the virtues of stability and determination, and for universal effort among the student body as they allow the Spiritual Lords - those who have risen in the hierarchical order because they have given their all in the service of humanity - the opportunity to express the valor of their ideas and to assist the race in the development of that soul consciousness which will cast aside the trivial and concentrate upon the best and highest gifts. If the comparatively few will today, as of yore, keep the Flame on behalf of the many - who would do better if they knew better - we will raise the cultural levels of the world; and in short order you will see those conditions overthrown that literally make merchandise of men in the marketplaces of life.

Everywhere the moneychangers would enter the temple; yet His words, "I AM come that ye might have life," should echo in East and West the glimmer of a great Light. "Life is more than meat," He once said; and we who have studied the many aspects of the spirit of man see in the dawn, as well as in the full-orbed day of his solar (soul) manifestation, a complexity which eclipses the simplicity of his true nature. Oversimplification likewise blurs the focus of Reality. And so we extend to man the proffered gift of perfect balance in the Threefold Flame which stills the soul in the midst of turmoil and shows him clearly that as the Father works he must also work.1

The many sons of God upon the planet must rally this year as never before to lift the burden of the world both spiritually and materially. They should understand that the burden of life's responsibility is given to each expression of God. Each person must share in the world responsibility as well as in his individual responsibility. When this is done by all, the Door to Spiritual Octaves can be opened wider, and we can step forth to instruct men in a Righteousness for which their souls have longed. Yet the dharma of the Law is salutary. It is its own cleansing agent; self-purifying and pruning the whole tree of Life, it advocates that Destiny, as the Purpose of God, be espoused.

There are so many unfinished tasks. There are so many that must be begun. But, above all, a new educational system for the youth of the world is essential; for tyrants and dictators who would rule the world, as well as those who profess to be worldly wise, spreading abroad their darkness and false ideologies, have always sought to bend the minds of the very young and to lead them into the realm of hatred and moral decay.

Ours is to train up the child in the way he should go. Ours is to reach out as never before to counteract those conditions in both the ideological and the physical marts that are the destroyers of Life. Ours is to bind up the wounds of the world, to comfort the brokenhearted, and to let the Truth, as fact, literally flood the earth, carving the pathway of the hidden Dream that shall no longer be hidden. For that which is done in secret will be shouted from the housetops, and the Truth shall make men free.2

From the East, with the strong wind of Cosmic Purpose, has our voice begun to speak; and the year shall see many fruits of our striving. Will ye unite with us, with the Bands of the Cosmic Heavens that are telling mankind that God lives within them, and that because He lives, they, too, shall live?

     Radiantly, I remain

Gautama Buddha
A New Year's Poem from Kuan Yin
Sunder unreality
O Mercy's Flame of Thee,
Revere our pure Reality
And set each soul now Free.

The Flame begins to change the form
From captive to released,
And drops of Life's Great Mercy Flame
Infuse the soul with Peace.

The Love of God inflames the heart
The soul does mold the form,
As Wisdom beams the Spirit-Sparks
That make each one reborn.

I AM the Servant of the poor
The Guardian of the pure,
My name is Mercy by the Lord
Whose Grace let all adore.
