Vol. 9 No. 15 - Beloved Jesus - April 10, 1966

Error stalks the streets of the world and its victims are the youth who should be leaders of the future. Wisdom would do her perfect work, but the artificial stoppages inherent within modern society have denied to the present generation the benefits of hard-won blessings striven for by spiritual men and women who in their day left a heritage for those to come. Mankind's disappointments cannot be attributed to heaven but only to their own ignorance and unrighteousness. While their emotions are constantly being stirred in the direction of egoistic complexities, they continue to seek name and fame without application to cosmic law and the grand search for a measure of the understanding of truth.

Where will all this lead mankind in the future? Where, indeed, for as I spake long ago, men do not gather grapes of thistles. The consciousness that wanders in search of the curious - searching for the approval of mankind - hides itself from the face of God. As in olden days, they who sow the wind shall reap the whirlwind. But what direction shall we exhort men to take in order to reverse these currents that destroy in consciousness the pure purposes of life? Is it not within the realm of education? Yet is not education controlled by a curricula more rigid than the strata of the rock? Entrenched within mankind's minds are their firm concepts of right, evolved in ignorance of spiritual law, for the purpose of satisfying their greed for the wealth of the world and the attainment of recognition by men.

These blessed ones, these tender grapes upon the vine of life, have so many needs to be supplied, and thousands of hands are extended to them, offering them the goods of the world. They lack discrimination; they know not verily what they do. Yet, the angelic hosts seek to minister to such as these, for "of such is the kingdom of heaven." When their consciousness clings yet to their mother's knee and they are not corrupted by the viciousness of the world, they are sweet, innocent, and loving. As the toils of treachery and the false values of civilization are inculcated into their consciousness, they are divided in twain, one half going to the right and the other to the left.

Multiple neuroses shake the land, and in this atmosphere there emerge lifestreams whom you have called "juvenile delinquents." These are the fathers and mothers of tomorrow, those to whom the torch has been passed that they should perpetuate a divine vision of the future.1 Yet, where is the vision without which the people must surely perish?

Is it any wonder, then, that mankind are asking themselves many questions and that they abide on the planes of confusion and dwell in the tents of darkness? It is one thing to decry the mode of the world and another to offer a panacea to correct these ills.

Salvation has often been construed by mankind to be wholly within the domain of individuality, and self-preservation has become the cry in the land. Even those who seek to bring men the good news of God's love for man are often prone to stress aspects of personal salvation and attainment. We do not deny that out of each person's consciousness there must be born an awareness of God and communion with him; on the other hand, we cannot approve a mere social gospel which leads men to become totally immersed in the betterment of man without seeking attunement with the one God. The Middle Way is the way of attainment wherein men seek to understand themselves and to hold consort with the Deity - to rent in twain the veil that divides them from the Infinite One - in order that they may better serve mankind and provide helping hands that are blessed with the powers of light.

We urge all at every age, then, to understand the need to serve or pray - and prayer is not without virtue - for the many must serve the needs of the many, and hands of light must stretch forth to the supplicants who cry, "How long, O God?" We must not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn, for the need of mankind is very great and continuing.

Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Oh, how I love these little ones of mine!

     Gratefully, I AM

JESUS
