Lovers of the Power of God unto Salvation -
If you could perceive at inner levels, as we do, the deep and almost painful longing within the hearts of God's children to find a greater understanding of life and deliverance from the confusion which is a part of the human experience, your hearts (if at all responsive to your brothers' needs) would swell with great desire and a mounting fervor to increase the tempo of deliverance upon this dear planet!
The wonderful devotion of many of our chelas is marvelous to behold, and we do commend their many benign attitudes and right action. Yet, scurrilous attitudes still permeate the mass consciousness, spilling over by semiconscious habit into the lives of our chelas, preventing the fullness of their manifestation of immortalizing love in action.
Now, it is true that salvation is a gift of the power and grace of God rather than a matter of men's works1; it is also true that the ascension is the fullness of the divine intent for every child of Light (the terms salvation and ascension are both defined as the soul's reunion with God, the Mighty I AM Presence, through the mediatorship of the Holy Christ Self).
Nevertheless, it is needful that the scriptures be correctly interpreted in order to bring greater understanding on what in Eastern philosophy is referred to as "karma yoga"2 (union with God attained through the balance of karma by right action). Just so, in his blessed writings James, a disciple of Jesus, stated that if a man had faith, good works should follow as a testimony thereof, concluding that faith without works is dead. And Love is truly the fulfilling of this law.
The symbology of the LORD's "common table" reminds us that the Law of Love is based on the great unity of Life - a love of Love, by Love and for Love! How can God forget man whom he has created, seeing that he, the Creator, is endowed with infinite grace and mercy? Those who are the true followers of the Divine Mind, perceiving his grace and the fullness thereof, must respond in the mode of the Father to the spiritual hungers of his little ones and, in the Master's words, "Feed my lambs!"
There are any number of dedicated lifestreams on this planet who, although they do not fully understand the law of their own being or the universal principle of the individualized Mighty I AM Presence, do understand the needs of mankind and do respond with good works and good causes to the heart calls and crying needs of the multitudes. With consummate skill our devotees, through their heightened understanding, seek to alleviate distress and suffering by direct invocation to the Godhead for a mighty intercession of his hosts on behalf of the many, not neglecting to also pour out their assistance with loving concern, constancy and a practical spirit of grace.
In a very real sense, both groups - the humanitarians and the ministering servants - are showing their faith by good works; and eventually they will find that the karmic record of their lifestreams, which is always accurate, reflects every good work credited to their personal account.
Inasmuch as immortality is the gift of Life intended for all - one which must be apprehended and claimed as a birthright by each individual son of God - those who assist souls in finding their way back to their beloved God Self are likewise, by this act of the Good Samaritan, helping themselves toward their own ascension.
Why do you suppose, blessed ones, that those of us who attuned so valiantly and devotedly to the Deity in past embodiments elected the humble way of service? Why did beloved Jesus lovingly offer his energies for the many who were unable to obtain for themselves that release of spiritual grace which he did? Why did so many of the illustrious, known avatars and servants of God, wrestle with humanity, regardless of expressed inappreciation or ingratitude, even to the point of hostility?
Blessed ones, it may have seemed a selfless act from the human standpoint, but from the divine it was enlightened self-interest. Those blessed ones knew that their return to the heart of God would be greatly accelerated by their full acceptance of the blessed opportunity for service on earth. They also knew that their earthly service would one day be transcended by the opportunity for greater service rendered from the God-victorious ascended state, even as I am now doing.
With the Brothers of the Golden Robe I am serving mankind in countless ways, helping them to obtain greater wisdom from God and the beauty of illumination's flame. As a servant of God in the office of World Teacher, it is my duty (dharma) and steadfast intent to intensify in all our students, as at Crotona3 long ago, the flame of devotion to Truth.
Now, my beloved heart friends of the ages, I would point out that discouragement is often the lot of the aspiring ones who assess their progress against the scale of the unreliable, untrue human personality. If men and women on the spiritual path will leave all judgment to God through the Mighty I AM Presence, not even judging themselves, turning rather to their Great God Source and the Ascended Masters with a more intense love, they will find a greater power coming into expression in their worlds. It is this power of God unto salvation4 that we would see expanded (with its commensurate deliverance from the Evil One), not self-degrading thoughtforms of one's self-imaged imperfection which only set the soul on a downward spiral.
The body of Light-servers (the Mystical Body of Christ) must be reinforced by men and women who are not afraid of absorption unto the Godhead. How ridiculous it is for man to fear to return to the Great Source whence he came! Do men actually believe that they can be all of God and still remain men? As they manifest more of God, they will yearn for all of God, their only regret the fact that the very quality of self-transcendence prevents the acquisition of Infinity, making the joyous pursuit of Divinity the self-transforming purpose of forever!
Could it be that man wishes to give power to the clay rather than to the Great Potter5 and to his blessed wheel molding life's experiences? Beloved, the creation of the incoming soul personality of the Son of man within God's heart takes place with so great a devotion that no gentler, no more powerful action of love could be conceived or comprehended by the offspring of the Most High.
Jesus, my beloved co-servant, expressed this love in his compassion for the multitudes as he "took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses,"6 thereby entering in to the Father's never-ending re-creative love, daily giving new birth and new life to the soul personality of his children. After the buffeting taken by his little ones making their way in the world, I am certain that the majority would more than welcome the reintegrating ministrations of the Holy Spirit given to the prodigal son.
Now, I do not intend to entertain the notion that the Godhead is powerless to interfere in the domain of earth - as some have avowed. O beloved brothers, the power of God is unparalleled anywhere, above or below - for, viewed from any angle, omnipotence is stupendous! Surely all should know that God does temper the wind to the shorn lamb7 wheresoever upon earth man, by free will, makes the Father's will the directing authority of his actions.
As I speak of lambs, I think of the scripture that declares, "He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter; as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth."8 Blessed ones, the service of compassion offered by every ascended being on behalf of earth's evolutions has not been accomplished without some opposition, apparent or not.
The abysmal swamp of human ignorance and the restless sea of delusion inundating the mass consciousness act to oppose the extension of the Light. But we declare, It has no power or permanence! Hitch your attention, blessed ones, to the star of divine power and heavenly permanence, and watch how your desires are fulfilled by the action of the immutable law of love and grace.
By giving comfort to others you cannot help but receive in return, and the world is so full of need. Immortality is best achieved by service, then; for by doing the Father's business,9 the stream of divine love is channeled through you, and God will not deny his own channel the boon of the divine interchange.
How necessary are instruments of service, in not one but many fields. Let all serve God as the great light of their Divine Self directs. And may all be blessed thereby with the rewards of immortal service so enjoyed by the Ascended Masters!
The many mansions of the Father await unfoldment by devoted lifestreams consciously pursuing the path of immortality, graduating from earth's schoolrooms in order that they may serve either "here" or "there." Truly, "I AM here and I AM there and I AM everywhere in the service of my God!" is a statement of the cosmic order of the day - and the Daystar appearing.10 The elect need never want for happiness derived from seizing the torch of opportunity (from those who have gone on in cosmic service) to serve here on earth.
The spreading abroad of love is the prerogative of angels. However, man, made a little (while) lower in the hierarchical order, as he attains the fullness of his freedom through self-application to grace and good works, accepts the gift of God and is crowned with even more glory and power!11 Thus is he exalted to the fullness of the honorable state of the Ascended Master octave where "one with God is the majority" - understandable in action through the use of universal power, wisdom, and love.
The personal self is naturally unhappy when confined to a state of stratification with no escape in sight. How well I recall this feeling which came upon me in my embodiment as Francis Bernardone when I was slated to take over my earthly father's business and make my way on the path of worldly glory and honor.
To the consternation of my father and friends, I forsook this cup of earthly inheritance and a prosperous business in order to strive for a better reward12 from my heavenly Father. I talked to Brother Sun and Sister Mother-Earth as I sought to impress the tenderness of Jesus' love and the love of God upon each grain of sand wherever I walked. I drew forth the flame of God and asked him to let the light within me flow forth to hallow each of my footsteps, that all generations to come might thereby be blessed.
You see, your immortality is attained here and now, blessed ones of the Light. It is won in your joyous use of the shining hours, in your radiant, God-expressed harmony, in paeans of praise released to the heart of God from your own wonderfully charged, beating hearts, swelling with the love-tide of gratitude for Life.
O come now, let us make a joyful noise unto the LORD!13 Let us together praise immortal areas of service, magnetized in the present day of salvation and then left as landmarks for all, that they, too, may find their way Home!
Upon the earth and all thereon
