We of the ascended host seldom advocate the practice of "looking backward," especially to past embodiments, nor do we direct the attention of our chelas to such etheric records unless there can be drawn therefrom that which will bring either needed warnings to avoid certain "pitfalls" of shadow, or to give great encouragement which will help to bring about present-day victories. This is because, through the student's attention (which is his life) directed to these past lives, both the good as well as unhappy experiences thereof are enlivened again.
You see, through turning one's attention to them, he feeds his presently flowing stream of life into them and makes them live again - today! Thus are they resurrected into manifestation and reproduce after their kind. Of course, everything good is eternal, for it is God-in-action; therefore the good can be safely remembered - all ways. Now, when the ascension is completed, every electron belonging to the lifestream has been wholly purified, cause, effect, memory - so that naught but the good remains.
You see, everyone is expressing today - (in appearance and personality) - the sum total of all he has been in past embodiments, good or otherwise, and the affairs of his world, as well as his associations, are manifesting the "fruits" thereof. If those expressions and manifestations are not yet the fullness of all the good you would like them to be, the remedy therefor is simple. With a grateful heart for the gift of God's instantaneous forgiveness and forgetfulness of everything "human," call on the law of forgiveness for the mistakes of the past and, faithfully every day, use the violet transmuting flame to purify the energies used therein. Then, determinedly fixing the attention upon one's own "I AM" Presence (anchored through the Holy Christ Self within one's beating heart), he should call it forth daily - completely to possess, control and rule him and his world, producing in, for and through him only that which will fulfill his divine plan (reason for being). The "appearances" of ourselves and our worlds today are the result of our past use of life. They can be changed into the perfection of God's will - if the student is determined enough to let them be so!
Beloved ones, you know that the law is: "One becomes that to which he gives his attention." Well, if one is not wholly free today, then it must follow that his attention has not been fixed upon real freedom - else he would now be free. Is that not logical? If one truly wants freedom, he must consciously place his attention where freedom is - and hold it there until he draws it from its "home" (which is the ascended masters' realm) into the unascended realm where he abides.
There is much talk about freedom everywhere these days and all life is demanding it on every hand. However, when all on earth finally do enjoy all "four freedoms" - will that set all life really free here? No! Living freedom is the state of consciousness which only those who abide in the realms of light enjoy - occupying a body of pure light which, through the power of levitation, goes here or there at one's will - instantly obedient to the slightest direction of thought and feeling; the powers of precipitation and etherealization (bringing instantly from the universal that which is desired - or returning that substance immediately thereto as soon as it has served its purpose); infinite ability and opportunity to know everything one wishes to know and to explore the depths of divine mind anywhere in the universe at will; the desire and ability to bring into being, sustain and expand without limit, such beauty and perfection of form and substance as can only ever come from the Godhead himself; to receive and express only feelings of purest love all ways; never to know or experience separation from that which one loves; to be surrounded always and only by that which never wilts, fades or "grows less" but continues ever to increase in beauty all the time; to live in an atmosphere of eternal peace, exquisite fragrance and beautiful music.
Would you too not like to live forever in such a world? Of course you would - for it is "home" for you, too, and while these few words but touch the mere "fringe" of the reality of true freedom, yet the most extravagant worded description would not do it justice believe me! Do you not see, then, why we say: "Look ever forward to this which you shall one day be and have - for eternity?" Most of the human habit of "looking back" but wastes time and energy. Take from past unhappy experiences whatever lessons can be learned therefrom - then forget the rest! Come up higher to where we abide! Turn your attention to us as often as you can - for we are trustworthy friends of light who will never mislead nor forsake you.
